  [S10408] Find a Grave: HULSEY John 1869-1949, John William Hulsey. John was the son of John Hulsey and Lucy Roxana Gamble. His maternal grandparents were Justus Gamble and Matilda Wideman. His paternal grandparents were James Hulsey and Sarah Bryan. His mother is assumed to have died between the time of his birth and before the 1870 census when his father is found living in the household of his future brother-in-law, Bradley Merideth. Also in the household is Rosana Meredith whom the elder John married on 6 Sep 1870. Infant John has not been located in 1870, however, in 1880 at age 11 he is found living in the household of his mother's sister, Mary Lucinda Gamble Alvord. He married Lucinda Ann Pressley on 10 Oct 1889 in Jefferson Co MO. They were the parents of Hettie Belle, Nellie Florence, Chester, Clarence Albert, Edward, Irene, Floyd, Orville Ralph and Roxie Margaret Hulsey. John had 2 younger half brothers, Thomas Harrison Hulsey and Newton Jasper Hulsey.
