Roger D. Gregerson, age 81, of Eau Claire, Wis., died Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at his residence.
He was born in Eau Claire on December 3, 1929, the son of Carl and Lillian (Sather) Gregerson.
Roger graduated from the original Eau Claire Memorial High School (later named Central Junior High on Main Street) with the class of 1948. He worked as a pin setter at Soleberg Bowling in Eau Claire, which is now at the site of Hillside Dental on Main Street. Many stories were told about sweating and stray bowling balls. Roger was also a salesman for Pepsi Cola and Gamble Robinson until Roger was offered a 45/55 deal with owner Gil Falstad for Falstad's Market, which was located at the corner of Main and Talmadge Streets. Falstad's Market was in business for 99 years until 1986. In 1986 he worked for Copps Food (Dukes) which is now Gordy's County Market. He enjoyed cabinet making, designing stained glass windows and ornaments, gardening, the sport of fishing and traveling with his wife, Janet. Roger was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
Roger is survived by his wife, Janet (Falstad) Gregerson, of Eau Claire; his son, Stephen (Debra) Gregerson, of Wilson, Wis.; and three grandsons, Kyle, Sean and Corey. Roger was also blessed by two great-grandchildren, Cameryn and Lilly, children of Kyle; along with nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Don; parents, Carl and Lillian (Sather); his son, Charles; and his sister, Mary (Dave) Axness.
Our family would like to thank the hospice nurses that took such good care of Roger.
