Mrs. Bessie Bernice Hargiss, 91, passed away September 9, 2013, at St. Joe Manor, Bonne Terre. Bernice was born December 31, 1921, in Herculaneum, and was the daughter of Thomas Gibson and Evelyn Amanda 'Williams' Gibson. Also preceding were: her husband, Glenwood Hargiss, Sr., (2009), a baby son; a brother, John Gibson; two sisters, Sadie Sales; Ethel Doss. Also, two grandsons.
Bernice retired from Farmington State Hospital #4 and was a member of Leadington Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors Include : six children, Glen (Elizabeth) Hargiss, Park Hills; Harold ( Mary) Hargiss, Hazelwood; Carolyn (Charles) Ransom, Arnold; Dianna (Stephen) Gunter, Jackson; Bill (Barbara) Hargiss, Farmington; Connie (David) Baskin, Farmington. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and three great, great-grandchildren.
Interment follows at K-P Cemetery, Farmington. Memorials to: Leadington Free Will Baptist Church.

Gibson and Amanda Evelyn 'Williams' Gibson McDowell. Also preceding-in-death were: her first husband, Bert Hall; her second husband, George Sanford Sales (1997); One Sister, Ethel Doss; One Brother, John David "Big Cat" Gibson and Two Grandchildren: Georgia Michelle Sales and Michael Sales. Sadie was a member of the Hurryville FreeWill Baptist Church. Survivors Include: Two Daughters, Sadie'Irene 'Mrs. Jack' Cunningham, of Farmington, and Linda Sales, of Farmington. One Son: Tom (and Sherry) Sales, of Farmington. Two Sisters: Bernice Mrs. Glen' Hargiss, of Leadington and Barbara Sherrills, of Doe Run. One Brother: Ralph Gibson, of Ironton. Also surviving are Four Grandchildren, Eight Great-Grandchildren and 16 Great, Great-Grandchildren. Visitation 5-8 p.m., today at Taylor Funeral Service, Inc., Farmington. Visitation resumes Saturday at 6:30 a.m., and funeral Saturday, 10 a.m., March 14, 2009, at Taylor Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Herbert McMillian officiating. Interment follows at Knights-of-Pythias Cemetery, Farmington.
