Second wife of John Talbot, Knight of the Garter and 2nd Earl of Shrewsbury, son of General John Talbot and Maud de Neville. They had five sons and two daughters: * Lady Ann Talbot m Henry Vernon and Ralph Shirley * John Talbot, 3rd Earl of Shrewsbury * Sir James Talbot, * Sir Gilbert Talbot m Elizabeth Greystoke * Rev Christopher Talbot * Sir George Talbot * Margaret m Thomas Chaworth Her father, 4th Earl of Ormond, Lieutenant of Ireland, tolerated continual tension from the Talbot family, including charges of treason, grievances presented to the Privy Council (including loss of land due to his neglect) and the Privy Council finally reprimanded both Butler and Talbot for wasting Ireland's government efforts and energies. The long fued was settled when their children married: Elizabeth married Sir John Talbot. John was slain at the Battle of Northampton 10 July 1460, fighting with the Lancastrians. He was buried at Worksop Priory in Nottinghamshire. In 1462, Elizabeth petitioned the Pope to be released from a marriage contract with Walter Blount, Esq., and received licence to marry whom she pleased without impeachment in Feb of 1464.
