According to the Kingston Dutch church records, Styntje (Christina) was the daughter of Leur Jacobsen Van Kuykendall and Grietje Aartzse Tack and was christened by the church on April 2, 1682. She wed Jurian Westfall in Machackemech (Port Jervis), New York in 1710 and they moved to Big Minisink Island in the Delaware River, next to Montague, New Jersey. There they had three children before she died in 1715. The children were christened by a circuit rider from the Kingston Dutch Reformed Church.

This is the record of the baptism of our first ancestor born in this country, Luur Jacobsen Van Kuykendall. This one per son constituted the whole of the first generation of the Kuykendall family in America. There is no record of any other son having been born in the family, and the father died six years later. It has been shown that this son grew up and married in the Hudson River Valley, near where the city of Kingston now is. His children formed the whole of the second generation, now to be considered
