Charles L Stanley 45 of Gould Street, Camden, died Sept 3, 1987 at a Hyannis Mass hospital after an accident on the fishing vessel Enterprise, whose homeport was Rockland.
He was the husband of Patricia (Freeman) Stanley. Mr Stanley was born in Rockland May 1, 1942, the son of Clifford and Myrtle (Stinson) Stanley He had been educated in Rockland schools and attended Rockland High School.
Mr Stanley was a deckhand and cook for many years on local fishing vessels. Besides being survived by his wife of Camden, he is survived by his mother of Rockland; two sons, Glen Stanley of Somerville Mass and Kevin Stanley of Camden; two daughters Angela McCoy of Nashua, NH and Lisa Stanley of Camden; two brothers, Lawrence and John Stanley both of Rockland; five sisters, Norma Cannata of Dania Fla, Patricia Harper of Thomaston, Ethelyn Ott of Warren, Shirley Edwards and Phyllis Hayes both of Rockland; two grandchildren, Robert and Nancy Stanley of Somerville Mass.
Graveside funeral services will be held 2 pm Monday at Oak Grove Cemetery, Searsmont, with the Rev Mark Monson Alley officiating. At the request of the family, there will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate in his memory to the Maine Fishermen's Wives Association in care of Mrs Alden Leeman RFD Box 795 Orrs Island 04066. Arrangements by Laite Funeral Home Camden.
