Alice (Ganley) (Smith) Nagarya, wife of the late W. John Nagarya, passed away peacefully at the Blue Hills/Kindred Alzheimers Facility in Stoughton, Jan. 18, 2012, at the age of 95. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Alice Ganley. She was a lifelong resident of Brockton until moving to Raynham to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She and her late husband had both been very active in the American Legion. She loved to knit and crochet. She is survived by her daughters, Janet Post of Louisiana, Jeanne Laskey and her husband Michael of Raynham and Pat Engle and her husband Bruce of Florida; a sister, Shirley Baker of West Bridgewater; two brothers, Daniel and Andrew of Florida; 11 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Wayne Smith and Joyce Scudder and the sister of the late Louella Salus, Eleanor Sullivan and Francis Ganley. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at 10 a.m. in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery in Brockton.
