Rudy F. Findley, 72, of 1829 Tanner Bridge Rd., died Wednesday at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born Dec. 18, 1904, at Grandin, the son of Benjamine S. and Ollie Livingston Findley. On Nov. 4, 1932, he was married at Birch Tree to Stella Marie Lovan, who survives.
Mr. Findley was a resident of Willow Springs until 1955 when he and his family moved to Jefferson City. He served with the U.S. Army from 1925 to 1931. He was employed as a guard lieutenant by the Missouri State Penitentiary until his retirement in 1967.
Mr. Findley was a member of the First Baptist Church, Willow Springs, the I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 136, Willow Springs, and the Missouri State Retired Employees Association.
Other survivors include: Five sons, Robert L. Findley, Tucson, Ariz., Benjamin C. Findley, Eminence, Thomas J. Findley, Eldon, William Findley, Fort Leonard Wood, and Rudy R. Findley, St. Martins; one step-son, Robert J. Melton, Coffeyville, Kan.; two daughters, Mrs. Laura D'Eagle, Jefferson City, and Mrs. Louise M. Clark, Chicago, Ill.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Fransis Knippel, Windsor, and 19 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Freeman Chapel with the Rev. James Pennington officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Memorial Cemetery, Willow Springs. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Stella M. Findley, 84, Jefferson City, died March 10, 1999, at California Care Center, California. She was born Dec. 8, 1914, in Allan, Kan., a daughter of Oscar G. and Sephrona Jones Lovan. She was married Nov. 4, 1932, in Birchtree, to Rudy F. Findley, who died Aug. 3, 1977.
She attended school in Willow Springs and was a homemaker. She did custom sewing in her home and also worked at Montgomery Ward & Co. for several years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Willow Springs, and Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include: four sons, Ben C. Findley, Calvert City, Ky., William O. Findley, Holts Summit, and Rudy R. Findley and Robert L. Findley, both of Jefferson City; one stepdaughter, Frances Knippel, Fallbrook, Calif.; one sister, Esther Hix, Windsor; one brother, Cecil B. Lovan, Grand Terrace, Calif.; 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Two daughters, one son and one stepson preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Thomas W. Nelson will officiate. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the City Cemetery, Willow Springs.
