Irene Clinton Turner, 84, of 2493 Clinton Road, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at her home.
A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Turner was born Jan. 19, 1925, a daughter of the late William Bryan and Alma Mackey Clinton Ratteree. She was a retired cashier from Walmart after 23 years of service.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Bratton Turner Jr. and two sons, Lindsay Clinton Turner and Carl Bratton Turner III.
Surviving are four children, Mac Turner and wife, Sandra, of Catawba, Elaine Turner Beard and husband, Wimpy, of Edgemoor, Edie Turner Dille and husband, John, of Rock Hill, John Turner and wife, Shannon, of Edgemoor; a sister, Barbara Clinton Baco of Spartanburg; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Turner will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Edgemoor ARP church, with the Rev. Allen Derrick officiating. Interment will follow at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to The Now Fund or The Good News Club c/o Edgemoor ARP Church. Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home is serving the family.
