Carl David Jenkins, 22, who was shot in the head with a 22-caliber nistol during a brawl Dec 9 at a local tavern, died yesterday in Baptist Hospital in Nashville. No charges have been placed against Mont Davis III, who allegedly fired the fatal bullet, because officials say it appears the snooting was in self defense. DISTRICT Attorney General Jack Hestle said he has ordered an autopsy and that the investigation into the incident at The Hangout in the St Bethlehem community is continuing. According to some witnesses, Davis was serving as acting manager at the club when a fight broke out near the pool tables. Davis renortedly ordered the brawlers to leave, but Jenkins refused and menaced him with pool cue and a knife. Davis then pulled the pistol from beneath a counter and again ordered Jenkins to leave. JENKINS still refused to leave and lunged for Davis, who then shot Jenkins in the head.
