  [S6040] FindAGrave Old World, Katherine Hutton Thomason 1612-1646. Katherine was the wife of George Thomason (b. c1602 d. April, 1666,) He had a bookshop named the Rose and Crown in the yard of old St. Paul's Cathedral in London, before St. Paul's and his shop burned in The Great Fire of London in 1666. His collection of 22,000 Civil War Tracts, now known as "The Thomason Tracts" are in the British Museum Library, purchased by King George III. Katherine was the daughter of Francis Hutton (1578-1614) and Mary Featherston (1580-1614), daughter of Cuthbert Featherstone, who served as Gentleman Usher to Queen Elizabeth I. The poet John Milton supposedly dedicated his Sonnet XIV to her after her death. Katherine and her husband George were the parents of seven children.
