Clarence E "Sonny" Morris Sr, 75, died Saturday Sept 15 2007 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. Sonny was born Jan 24 1932 in Evansville to Ambrose Ross and Ethel Compton Morris. He was a member of Canton Baptist Church in Cadiz KY. Sonny retired from Whirlpool Corp and was a member of Local 808 and known as "Cut Worm" at Whirlpool. He was a US Air Force veteran and a member of Eugene Pate Post 265. He was a former Lions Club member in Cadiz. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, a son Robert Wesley Kerr, three sisters, one brother, and two grandchildren. Sonny is survived by his wife of 52 years in November, Peggy of Cadiz KY; six children, Debbie (Jim) Warner, Glenda Jeanne Williams, Clarence "Boone" (Stacy Burkhart) Morris Jr, Cindy (Sonny) Harper, Cheryl (Terry) Williams, and Cordelia Tannehill; 17 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Doris (Don) Layton, and Nancy (Jim) White; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral service 1 at Chandler Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Chandler IN, with military rites by the Warrick County Veterans Memorial Services. Friends may call at Koehler Funeral Home, Perigo Chapel and at the church.
