Gilbert (Bert) M. Keller died Feb. 21. He was born in Los Angeles April 8, 1928, and retired to Lake Havasu City in 1987. Bert, as he was known by friends and family, served in the U.S. Army 1946-1948. He graduated from Woodbury College and then attended the National Training School for professional Scout executives and served in the Los Angeles Area Council, Boy Scouts of America in various administrative positions for 36 years. As a boy, he had earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
Following retirement, he served as a member of the Lake Havasu Untied Way board of directors for six years, helped secure funds for the new library as a Friend of the Library. He was a member of the Lake Havasu Yacht Club, played tennis as a member of the Racket and Fitness Club and was an active member of St. Michaels United Methodist Church serving as Administrative Board Chair, a representative to the Desert Southwest Council and chaired various fundraising activities.
Bert is survived by his loving wife, Gilda, whom he married Aug. 12, 1948; one daughter, Janet; two sons, Stephen and Christopher; seven grandchildren, Tina, Jennifer, David, Sarah, Paul, Daniel, Stacy; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will take place at St. Michaels U.M.C. 2895 S. Jamaica Blvd. Sunday at 3 p.m.
