_Sir Nicholas Throckmorton

Sir Nicholas Throckmorton was born in 1515. He was the son of Sir George Throckmorton and Katherine Vaux. He married Anne Carew, daughter of Sir Nicholas Carew. He died in 1571. Sir Nicholas Throckmorton held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Malden between 1545 and 1567. He was invested as a Knight in 1547. He fought in the Battle of Boulogne in 1549, with distinction. He fought in the Battle of St. Quentin in 1557. He held the office of Ambassador to France in 1560. He held the office of Ambassador to Scotland in 1565. He lived at Pauler's Pury, Northamptonshire, England.
