Tomb-RYVES Robert
Birth: 1490, Blandford Forum, Dorset, England - Death: Feb. 11, 1551, Blandford Forum, Dorset, England - His burial location was confirmed in 1972 when the crypt was opened, identified, and examined. This is a replacement plaque placed in the north part of the church to mark the site of the crypt. The original flat stone carving was destroyed in a fire in 1731. The family of Robert Ryves is believed to have come to England from the northwest English provinces still under English rule. "Burke's Landed Gentry" states Ryves was a merchant clothier and wool manufacturer.
