Ship-USS Philippine Sea (CV-47)
US Navy Aircraft Carrier Philippine Sea (CV/CVA/CVS-47, AVT-11) was one of 24 Essex-class aircraft carriers of the United States Navy, and the first ship to be named for the Battle of the Philippine Sea. She was launched on 5 September 1945, after the end of World War II. Philippine Sea arrived in Korean waters in 1950 and became flagship of Task Force 77. She immediately began launching air strikes against strategic targets, as the Battle of Pusan Perimeter began and United Nations and United States Army forces fought a defensive battle against the North Korean Korean People's Army. Her first strikes were against Iri, Mokpo, and Kunsan. -- Philippine Sea and Hollister take on supplies from Chara en route to Korea, 1950. + https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Philippine_Sea_(CV-47)
