SMITH, Clara Twomey — Thursday March 16, 1995 at home. Age 66. Survived by husband, Edice R. Smith; sons, Larry and wife, Dianne, Rand and wife, Beth, Jeff and wife, Ann, and Marty and wife, Pam; thirteen grandchildren. Remains rest Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, 2707 Gallatin Rd. where Visitation will be held Friday from 12 Noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 Noon. Remains will then be taken to Memorial Lutheran Church, 1211 Riverside Dr., where services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Carl Gabielsen and the Rev. Kenneth Hartzheim officiating. Pallbearers: J.C. Frye, Ray Newbill, Phil Watts, Don McCoin, Bobby Allen, and Corky Cross.

He will be mourned and missed by a brother, Harold Smith; a sister, Ann Hamilton; sons and daughters-in-law Larry and Dianne, Rand and Beth, Jeff and Ann, and Marty and Pam; as well as thirteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Woodlawn Funeral Home, at 660 Thompson Lane in Nashville, on Sunday, August 31st from 2:00 until 5:00 pm, and First Evangelical Lutheran Church, at 113 Eighth Avenue South in Nashville, on Monday, September 1st at 9:00 am. The funeral will be Monday at 10:00 am, by the Rev Brian Hooper at First Lutheran. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Edice’s grandchildren, and their spouses or fiancés will serve as honorary pallbearers.

She is survived by five sons: Henry Twomey, of Bonne Terre, Tim Twomey, of Green River, Wyo., Ray Twomey, of Berkley, Leo Twomey, of Arnold and John.Sherman Twomey, of Denver, Colo.; six daughters: Kathryn (Mrs. Fred) Halbert, Sullivan, Clara Mae (Mrs. Ed) Smith, of Nashville, Tenn., Louis Wright, of Imperial, Carol Ingrassia of Elsberry, Imogene (Mrs. Don) Stevens, of Temple City, Calif., and Betty (Mrs. George) Golden, of St Louis; one brother, Harlon Mayes, of Collinsville, Ill.; three sisters: Julia (Mrs. Harley G.) Surviving are: his widow Bertha Twomey of Route One, Bismarck; five sons John Twomey of Colorado, Henry Twomey of Festus, Tim Twomey of Bismarck, Ray Twomey of Festus and Leo Twomey of Arnold; six daughters, Katherine Halbert of Sullivan, Clara Mae Smith of Nashville, Tenn., Louise Wright of Bismarck, Carolyn Ingrassia of St Louis, Imogene Stevens of St Louis, Betty Becker of Bismarck; two brothers, John Twomey of Farmington and Theodore Twomey of Frankclay; four sisters Fairy Walch of Flat-River, Ruth McNair of Calif., Esther Gurvette of Festus, Ixretta Culli of St Louis; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral service will be Monday 2 p.m. at the Bismarck First Baptist Church with the Rev. William Hodge officiating. Interment will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Bismarck. The body will be in state after 7 p.m. Saturday at the Edna Lee Shipmand and Son Chapel in Bismarck.
