Sallie Marie Gilmer Wood-Weekley of Warrenton, Missouri, passed away August 6, 2018 at the age of 90. She was born September 18, 1927 in Hadley, Missouri to Charles E. and Irene Gilmer nee Carter. Sallie married John Wood Jr. on June 28, 1947 in St. Louis, MO. They were married 48 years at the time of his death. On March 27, 2004 she married Hermann Weekley. They were married 8 years at the time of his death. Sallie is survived by one son, Ronald L. (Katherine) Wood; four daughters, Patricia A. Long, Kathryn L. (Kevin) McNatt, Karen R. (John) Carruth, Sandra M. (Maurice) Sachs; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Brothers, Henry Edward (Reva) Gilmer and Floyd Elvis Gilmer. Sallie was preceded in death by her husbands, John Wood, Jr. and Hermann Weekley; her parents Charles and Irene Gilmer; one brother, Charles E. “Sonny” (Chestaline) Gilmer; three sisters, Martha E. (Floyd) Jones, Audrey M. (John Spradling and Jack Hays) Hays, Doris Imogene (Wendell) Pogue; sister-in-law, Sandra Gilmer; son-in-law, Stephen A. Long. Sallie was baptized as a young girl at the Baptist Church in Redford, MO. Her passion was singing, especially in the church choir and with the Melodeers singing group from Lakeview Estates in Warrenton, MO. At the time of her death, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warrenton, MO. Burial at Eternal Peace Cemetery beside her husband John.
