Charles D. Balthrop, age 99, of Clarksville, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at his residence.
Charles was born January 8, 1921 in Clarksville, TN to the late John P. Balthrop and Pearl Leah Davis Balthrop. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers, John T. Balthrop, Ray T. Balthrop and Carlton Balthrop; sisters, Frances Bokesch, Betty Harvey and Dana McHarque.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Balthrop; two sons, Charles David Balthrop, Kenneth Michael Seay; four daughters, Kathryn Leah Downs, Susan Teague, Kimberly Hewell, Melissa Seay and 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Charles was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a U.S. Marine Veteran, First Degree mason with Lodge # 89, and he was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and Clarksville-Montgomery County School System.
A graveside service will be held Friday, December 18, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. John Mark Thomas officiating.
Pallbearers will be Shane Cardwell, Chris Hewell, Bryson Hewell, Kelly Downs, Jesse Zumbro and Mark Chester.

A Graveside service for Nancy Elizabeth Balthrop, age 76 of Clarksville, will be Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Greenwood Cemetery. Nancy passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Tennova Healthcare.
Nancy was born August 21, 1944 to the late Bracy Bryant and Mabel Smith. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Balthrop and son, Kenneth Michael Seay.
Nancy was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church and retired teacher aide from Clarksville Montgomery County School System.
Nancy is survived by daughters and step-children, nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild along with many nieces and nephews.
