Charley M. Jones, only son of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Jones, southwest of Cabool, was born July 29, 1904, and met his death July 10, 1928, making his age 23 years, 11 months, 11 days. His death was by his own hand, but whether it was accidental or intentional is unknown. All evidences the family have are that it was accidental. He joined the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist church when he was 17 years old. He was a member of the 192S graduating class of Mountain Grove High school, and was soon to have been married to Miss Edna Chambers, a member of his class. Members of the class were pallbearers at the funeral. In his associations with people, Charley a smile was always a winning asset. Besides the many relatives and friends to mourn their loss are his father and mother and two sisters, Juanita and Gwendolyn. The funeral services were conducted at the home on Wednesday by Rev. Ed Brooks, pastor of the home church, and the body was laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill cemetery.
