  [S7982] Find a Grave: JOHNSTON JC 1914-1991, JC Johnston (Veteran). JC Johnston was born in White Plains, KY on Sept 6, 1914 on the farm of his parents Sam and Ellen Johnston. He was the fifth born son of nine children, seven boys and two girls. JC did not have a name, initials only. The second born son, John Realous, died as an infant. Sam wanted to name a son John after John Calloway Johnston who raised Sam so they gave Dad the initials JC. Prior to the US entry into World War II, JC enlisted in the US Army on 5 Aug 1941 and was sent to New Guinea Feb 1942. He served in New Guinea for 33 months and returned to the US Nov 1944. Married Edith Leotha Clark 30 Nov 1944 in Henderson, KY Moved to Tucson, AZ in 1977.
