- [S10654] Find a Grave: FALSTAD Janet Gregerson 1931-2012, Janet L Falstad Gregerson.
Janet L. Gregerson, age 80, of Eau Claire died at her home on Monday, February 6, 2012. She was born in Eau Claire on February 13, 1931, to Gilroy and Rosamond (Stussy) Falstad.
Janet graduated from Eau Claire High School with the class of 1949 and later that year married her late husband, Roger Gregerson. Roger worked for Falstad's Market, which was started in 1886 by Janet's grandparents, Ole and Lena Falstad, and was later owned by Janet's father, Gil. With her grandparents named Ole and Lena, in a joking manner, Janet may have taken offense to the "Ole&Lena" jokes. In the early 1960's Falstad's Market was sold to the third generation, Roger and Janet, which was open until they retired the business in 1985.
Janet received the "Home Economics Award" where she excelled in cooking and sewing which was her lifelong passion. While in school she was active in clubs and plays. Janet was a member of the "Talking Club" throughout her life along with Norwegian cooking and knitting. Janet was always very charitable as she donated many of her knitting and sewing items which included dolls, mittens, scarves, slippers and hats. She also enjoyed sewing several items for her nieces. On her artistic side, she created several ceramic items along with decopage and rosemaling. Her late husband, Roger and her, along with John and Carol Bast, traveled to many points of the U.S. which included Alaska, California, Louisiana, just to name a few. Janet and Roger also enjoyed bus trips with Grace Lutheran Church.
Janet is survived by her son, Stephen (Debra) Gregerson, of Wilson; three grandsons, Kyle, Sean and Corey. Janet was also blessed by two great-grandchildren, Cameryn and Lilly who are Kyle's children. She is further survived by her sister, Mary (Falstad) Nadler along with many nieces and nephews.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; son, Charles; and sister, Helene (Falstad) Maconek.
Janet will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to thank the hospice nurses that took such good care of Janet.
Funeral Service will be held at 11AM, Friday, February 10, 2012, at Grace Lutheran Church, 202 Grand Ave., Eau Claire, with Pastor Rolf Nestingen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be at a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Lutheran Church for their television or radio programs, as Janet was an avid follower.
