Todd Sirclum, 38 of Bismarck, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011. He was born June 7, 1974.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Henry and Frieda Sirclum, and one brother Raymond Eugene Sirclum Jr.
He is survived by his wife Tanya Sirclum of Bismarck; his children Brittany, Arron, and Raymond Sirclum all of Farmington; step children Destiny Wright and Michael Tindall both of Bismarck; father Raymond Sirclum of Park Hills; mother Vicky (King) and husband Joe Donovan of Park Hills; sister Gena and husband Richard Skaggs of Park Hills; niece and nephew Leaonna and Spencer, Steinmetz of Park Hills; grand niece and nephew Maddy and Ryley Joe Steinmetz of Park Hills; Uncles and Aunts Lance and Judy King of Park Hills, Roger and Alberta Penberthy of Park Hills, Mark and Shelly Wampler of Park Hills, Shawn and Victoria Wampler of Fredericktown; grandmother Doris Jean Lee (Wampler) of Park Hills; Aunt Sue King of Coffman; mother and father-in-law Annabell and Tom Pratte; one sister-in-law
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home Caldwell Chapel in Park Hills, Friday, December 30, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Services will be held at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Caldwell Chapel in Park Hills, Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Rick Hensley officiating. Interment will follow at Layne Cemetery.

Bismarck Police Chief Dave Dickerson said Michael "Todd" Sirclum's death is still being investigated as a murder even though murder charges have yet to be filed against anyone. A warrant was issued late 'Ihursday for the arrest of Jason A. Roberts, 27, of Leadwood, for first-degree assault. As of Friday night, Roberts was not in custody. His bond is set at $250,000 cash-only. The investigation is still ongoing. Dickerson believes two others were also there and he wants to speak to them, as well as Roberts about what hap pened. According to the probable cause statement, officers were dispatched at 5:46 p.m. Dec. 24 to 1021 Maple Street in reference to an assault. Upon their arrival, Dickerson said the officers found Sirclum lying in the yard being treated by Bismarckfirefighters. The victim was subsequently airlifted to St. John's Mercy Hospital in St Louis and placed on life support. Sirclum died Wednesday. St. Francois County Coroner Jim Coplin said preliminary results of the autopsy showed Sirclum died of complications of a closed head injury. The probable cause statement states Sirclum's wife told police she saw her cousin, Roberts, strike Sirclum in the head or chest and knock him to the ground. She said Roberts started to kick Sirclum and she grabbed him. She said Roberts pushed her down and they left. . On Friday, a woman who identified herself as the suspect's mother told the Daily Journal there is much more to the story. She said her son went to Sirclum's home because they invited him there. She was suspicious so she told him to take someone with him. She said her son had something stolen and he was going to talk to Sirclum about it. She said it was a "family quarrel." She said her son told her that Sirclum came out with a cane to attack her son. She said her son hit him but did not kick him. "It was self defense," she said. She said because of "the lies" being told, her son is scared to come out of hiding and talk to police. She believes Sirclum actually died as a result of a medical condition. Roberts has prior convictions and was just released from prison in October for one of those convictions, according to the Department of Corrections. His previous convictions include second-degree assault, possession of a controlled substance with intent to . distribute, and misdemeanor resisting arrest.
