WW Young passed away Monday night after a short illnes resulting from a fall sustained about two weeks ago. Mr Young was the oldest man on the Island the last of a family of ten. He was born in Gouldsboro, July 21 1836 and came to Cranberry Isles in the early sixtys. In 1867 he married Mrs Hannah C Ladd a widow with two children, Lewis Ladd of Cranberry Isles and Mrs A S Spurling of Islesford. Only one child was born to them, William A, with whom the aged couple spent their years.
Aunt Caroline died In 1918 and Uncle Billy has been a semi-invalid for a number of years. Mr Young was buried in tbe Gilley cemetery. Rev Mr Olsen of Southwest Harbor officiating.
