Richard Brent, Esquire, of Larkstoke in Ilmington and Admington, Gloucestershire. Sheriff of Gloucestershire.
Son of Richard Brent and Mary Hugford, grandson of John Hugford and Katherine Heneage daughrer of John Heneage of Hainton.
Husband of Elizabeth Reade, daughter of Giles Reade of Tewkesbury and Katherine Greville, daughter of Fulk. They had six sons and seven daughters;
Fulk, Colonel Richard, Giles, William, Edward and George, Margaret, Mary, Catherine, Elizabeth, Eleanor, Jane and Anne. three of his daughters became nuns.
Richard subscribed (helped to financially support) to the building of the bridge at Stratford-Upon-Avon in 1618, leased Larkstoke for 14 years to his brother-in-law, Fulke Reade, and in 1629, he and Elizabeth conveyed the manor of Admington to the executors of Fulk Greville, Lord Brooke, his wife's cousin. Two thirds of his lands were collected in 1644 for recusancy (fees to the church as he failed to pay), and Elizabeth's children were left amounts in the will of her brother, Fulk.
