- [S8204] Smith, Julie Campbell, Find a Grave - Ancestor (Gregerson): GREGERSON Lisa Campbell, (Name: SmithLC.com;), GREGERSON Lisa Claire Campbell 1959-2016.
Lisa Claire Gregerson was born July 19, 1959 in Coos Bay, Oregon and died August 27, 2016 in Pleasant Hill, California. Her immediate family was by her side when she surrendered to lung cancer at age 57.
Lisa grew up on a small ranch in the high desert of Central Oregon where she enjoyed the outdoors, horseback riding, tending to her animals, and playing with her siblings and neighbors far and wide. She moved to a small village in Northern Wisconsin in her teens where she became a cheerleader, singer, and thespian at Frederick High School. Upon graduation in 1977, Lisa moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to pursue an education in Fine Art. She graduated from Diablo Valley College.
Lisa had a passion for drawing and painting. She drew inspiration for her art from her family, her friends and her unrelenting love of nature and animals.
Lisa is survived by her daughters, for whom she was dedicated to, and they in turn loved and cared for their Mom during much of her 40-year struggle with mental illness. She is also survived by her mother, sister, and brother. Lisa remained close to her former husband, Mark Campbell, throughout her life and she lived to see their daughter marry and give birth to a granddaughter. Lisa's father, Don, passed away in 1964 at age 39. Though she was only five years old at the time, she had vivid memories of their time together.
Lisa's essence was kind, fun-loving, and mischievous—traits she shared with her lifelong best friend and cousin.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, at 4000 Clayton Rd. Concord, California at 4:00 pm on September 2, 2016 for a funeral service conducted by the Reverend Jeremy Serrano. A potluck dinner and celebration of life will immediately follow in the church's Fellowship Hall. Disposition will be observed by the family at a later time.
Lisa had great empathy for people because of the burdens she carried while making her way. For those who are able, a donation to would have made her happy.

- [S5512] Smith, Julie Campbell, Find a Grave - Ancestor (Gregerson): SEVERSON Phyllis Bowers, (Name: SmithLC.com;), SEVERSON Phyllis Mae Olive “Sue” Gregerson Bowers 1929-2016.
Sue Bowers was born Phyllis Severson on March 8, 1929, in Boyceville, Wisconsin. She died of natural causes on October 3, 2016, in Bend, Oregon. Her family was by her side. She was 87.
Sue grew up on a dairy farm with her parents, Eli and Clara, and four elder brothers, Orin, Lane, Don, and Earl. She retained her love of the outdoors throughout her life, and after her husband succumbed to cancer at age 39, raised her three children, Dan, Pam, and Lisa on a seven-acre parcel north of Bend. In response to her father's failing health, she moved the family back to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, in 1969, to care for him. Later, with her daughters, she moved to Frederic, Wisconsin, where she owned and operated Trade Lake Realty before, eventually, returning to Bend.
Sue was a graduate of Boyceville High School and studied English Literature at Central Oregon Community College. Although she was a devoted Christian, Sue respected all religions and practices and felt a connection with anyone striving to know more about their place and purpose in life.
Sue is survived by her daughter; her son; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Gregerson, in May 1964; and her daughter, Lisa, in August 2016.
Sue enjoyed adventure. Traveling cross-county by car and train, exploring hard-to-reach back roads, and discovering old deserted buildings made her happy. Her knack for storytelling, a famously active mind, and an impressive repository of detailed memories made her fun to be around.
Sue requested that, in lieu of a church service, her family and friends gather privately to enjoy each other and to share memories of her life. Disposition will be observed by the family at a later time.
