BINKLEY, Bessie (Big Mama) Age 88, Nashville TN. A devoted member of The Church of Christ.
Mrs. Binkley is survived by two daughters, Betty Fuston and Helen Shores; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Pete (Mildred Edison) Stanfield and Odell 'Dinky' (Mary Evelyn Regg) Binkley; sister, Lillian Griffin; sister-in-law, Delia Derryberry; 11 grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Bessie Binkley was a vendor on the farmer market beginning in 1932 around the Metro Courthouse, behind the Ben West Building and the Jefferson St location for over 50 years. Obtaining the nickname from her many many friends and customers at the Farmer's market of the Vegetable Lady.' It was always said of her that if you met her you liked her. She loved her work because of the many wonderful people that she dealt with.
Services will be held Monday at Hermitage Funeral Home, Bro Billy Wolfe officiating. Interment at Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers, Donnie Fuston, Ronnie Shores, Terry Shores, Howard Binkley, Dell Binkley, John Binkley. Honorary Pallbearers, Kalb Hollow Group and past friends from the Farmer's Market.
