Mrs. Nettie Stobaugh one of Crescent first settlers died at Wesley Hospital at Okla. City Wednesday. She had been sick only a short time, having taken suddenly ill with brain fever. Born Lewis, Ia., Oct 21, 1862 at age 9 with parents moved to Oxford, Kans. At Wellington, Kan. on Dec 4, 1882 Miss Nettie Gordon and Edward Stobaugh were married. 3 children. In 1889 they came to Crescent and settled on farm adjoining Crescent where they lived and reared their children. She was a charter member of First Christian church. She was preceded by infant daughter, and 2 sons, Emmett and Stanley died during the influenza epidemic of 1918. 4 years ago her husband died. She was last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors 3 grandchildren Robert Stobaugh, Okla. city, Minnie Maude Stobaugh, Brownsville, Tex., Dessa Mae Stobaugh, Crescent and their mothers, Mrs. Maude Stobaugh of Brownsville, Tex., and Emma Stobaugh, Crescent. 1 brother, John Gordon, near Crescent and 3 nieces Mrs. Virgil Route, Mrs. Maggie Poston and Mrs. Wendall Hopkins. Funeral this p.m.
