Gordon Brandon Cobb was born on September 28, 1920 in Montgomery County, Tennessee, and he was the son of Estelle Christine (Smith) (Cobb) Turner (1901–1974) and her 1st husband Brandon France Cobb (1897–1934). {Brandon and Estelle were married on January 10, 1920 in Montgomery County.}
He was married on August 25, 1943 to Geneva Frances (Bowers) Cobb (1921–2003), the daughter of Charles "Herman" Bowers (1889–1953) and Ella "Blanche" (Collier) Bowers (1894–1948).
Gordon was a dozier operator, a member of Montgomery County Conservation Club and a member of Queen City Gun Club. Living at 1010 Daniel Street in Clarksville, he was 54 years old and married when he died on June 10, 1975 at Clarksville Memorial Hospital after being ill for two years.
Survivors included his widow Geneva, sons Gordon W Cobb of Sparta, Tennessee and Dudley H Cobb of Clarksville, sister Mrs Dorothy LePore of Garden Grove, California, stepfather U W Turner of Pembroke, Kentucky, half-sister Mrs Douglas Shelton in Nashville and half-brother Yancey W Turner of Pembroke.
Funeral Services were held on June 12th at McReynolds Funeral Home, and burial was in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Clarksville

From the Harvey W. Hunt funeral home at 1 p. m. Thursday prayer services will be conducted for Brandon F. Cobb, 38-year-old resident of District 1, who was shot by his uncle-in-law, Gordon Edwards, in front of the Edwards' home Tuesday afternoon. Prayers will be offered by the Rev. F. P. Taylor and committal services will be conducted at the grave in Lafayette cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dan Rosslter, Joe Moss, A. D. Hewell, Roy Clardy, Dotson Farmer and Emmett Hewell.
Mr Cobb is survived by his widow, Mrs Estelle Smith Cobb, one son, Gordon, and a daughter, Dorothy, Three brothers and two sisters also survive; They are Ellis Cobb of Herrln, Illinois; Charlie Cobb of Danville, Illinois, and Clarence Cobb of Indian Mound. The sisters are Mrs. Viola Gearetti of Royalton, Illinois and Mrs. Thomas Story of Dawson Springs, Ky.
Mr. Cobb was born In 1897 in the Rose Hill community, the son of the late Mack and Mrs. Donnie Lee Cobb. In 1920 he was married to Miss Estelle Smith, who survives him. He has lived in the Rose Hill community all his life.
He volunteered in the World war on March 21, 1918 and served as a private in Battery A. 148th Field Artillery from September 25, 1918 until June 16, 1919.
Upon returning home he again engaged in farming and was widely known as a tobacco grower. He was a respected citizen of the community In which he lived and a host of friends deeply mourn his death.

Sheriff W E Beaumont said he was told the shooting climaxed an argument over a rented wagon and that Edwards said he fired on Cobb with a shotgun when the latter made a motion as if to draw a gun.

She was married on August 25, 1943 to Gordon Brandon Cobb (1920-1975), the son of Estelle Christine (Smith) (Cobb) Turner (1901–1974) and her 1st husband Brandon France Cobb (1897–1934).
Geneva worked for Vulcan Rubber and was a member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville in Montgomery County, Tennessee. She was 82 years old and a widow when she passed away at Dogwood Bend Assisted Living in Clarksville on December 25, 2003.
Survivors included sons Wendell Cobb and Dudley Cobb of Clarksville, sister Fronia Jones in Ohio and two grandsons.
Funeral Services were held on December 27th at the chapel of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, and burial was in that cemetery
