She was a retired nurses aide at Colonial Nursing Home in Maryville; member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville. Preceding in death were her parents, Andrew Jackson and Savannah M. (Olive) Mayes; three brothers and four sisters. Surviving are her husband, Harley Barton; a daughter, Mrs.
Cary (Debra) Dix of Collinsville; a stepson, Gary Thomas Barton of Granite City; a brother, Harlan Mayes of Collinsville; two sisters, Ruby Thomason of Staunton, Ill. and Bessie Barton of Pinckneyville, Ill; two grandchildren, Jason and Heather Dix; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday from the Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville with Rev. Lester Seto officiating.
Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Belleville. Friends may call between 4:30 and 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Twomey; eight grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Twomey was a member of the United Methodost Church in Bismarck. She is survived by five sons: Henry Twomey, of Bonne Terre, Tim Twomey, of Green River, Wyo., Ray Twomey, of Berkley, Leo Twomey, of Arnold and John.Sherman Twomey, of Denver, Colo.; six daughters: Kathryn (Mrs. Fred) Halbert, Sullivan, Clara Mae (Mrs. Ed) Smith, of Nashville, Tenn., Louis Wright, of Imperial, Carol Ingrassia of Elsberry, Imogene (Mrs. Don) Stevens, of Temple City, Calif., and Betty (Mrs. George) Golden, of St Louis; one brother, Harlon Mayes, of Collinsville, Ill.; three sisters: Julia (Mrs. Harley G.)
