He was born April 26, 1925, in Woodlawn, TN, son of the late Herbert J Edwards and Mary Farley Edwards. He served his country during WWII, in the Army for two years. He worked for many years with Long Construction Company and Mark Young Appraisal Company. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his son, Jerry Edwards (Sheryl), Clarksville, TN, daughters, Mary Byard (Tommy), Cumberland Furnace, TN, Betsy Edwards, Dover, TN, JoAnn Dupree Mosley (Greg), Clarksville, TN, and Paula Bradish (Mark), Clarksville, TN, brother, Bobby Edwards, Baltimore, MD, sisters, Dorothy Hale, Piedmont, MO, and Sue Mobley, St. Joseph, TN, six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Coppedge Edwards, and brother, Benny Edwards. Funeral services were held at 2 Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Gateway Funeral Home with Brother Joel Nulty officiating. Burial with military honors was in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held Friday, February 9, 2018, from 4 8 and from 11 until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
