PVT ARTHUR SAVOY
Arthur Savoy, 21, of Spring Lake NC, and formerly of Augusta, died Saturday aa the result of an automobile accident.
He was born in Nedick MA, March 16 1961, the son of Arthur and Barbara Casey Savoy. He was educated in the Augusta School System and attended Cony High School. He had been employed for a short time by Edwards Manufacturing Co. He had been in the US Army since October 1981.
He is survived by his wife Pamela Grondin Savoy of Spring Lake NC; one son Joseph Savoy of Spring Lake NC; his parents of Augusta; his paternal grandmother, Mrs Rose Savoy of South Portland; one brother, Daniel Savoy of Augusta; two sisters, Martha Savoy of Portland, and Theresa Savoy of Augusta; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Plummer Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Friday afternoon at St Mary's Catholic Church for E2 Arthur Joseph Savoy III with the Rev Thomas J Joyce, pastor, officiating. Organist was Michael Gervais.
Representatives attended from the Office of the governor, the Attorney General's office, the State of Maine post office, Information Systems Department and Payment Processing, JS McCarthy Co, Central Maine Power Co Accounting, Financial Planning and Treasury Departments, Co B 327th Signal Corps, Camp Keyes, Augusta, National Association of Retired Employees and the church.
Pall bearers, all from the 10th Special Forces Group in Fort Devens, Mass, Staff Sgt Michael Armstrong, Sgt Dennis Skeens, Sgt David Rothman, Cpl Timothy Aamland, Cpl Mark Bern, Cpl Thomas J Sherry, and Sgt 1st Class Kenneth Day, NCO in charge.
Military ceremonial honors were offered by the honor guard from the 10th Special Forces Group with Staff Sgt Dinsmore, Sgt 1st Class Waymon Ivery, Sgt John Specht, Cpl Bruce O'Connor, Sgt Joseph Glazewski, Cpi Wayne Wilson, Sgt Abel Buendia, and Sgt 1st Class Arthur Goldsmith, NCO in charge.
The bugler was Spec 4 Carolene Bartholemew from the 19th Army Band, Fort Devenr. Escort was Pvt Jackson Powers from D Co 25th Signal Batallion, Fort Bragg! NC, and senior enlisted advisor, Sgt Maj Ivan Wentworth of Camp Keyes.
Burial was in St Mary's Cemetery where the Rev Fr Joyce read committal prayers. The American flag was folded by the active pall bearers and presented to the deceased's wife, Pamela Grondin Savoy by Pvt Powers.
