Obituary-RUSHING George
Funeral service for George Astin Rushing 41, driver of a truck for JE Jackson Jr of Stamford will be held Friday at Kinney and Corley Funeral Chape;. Rushing was killed Wednesday in a highway accident 16 miles north of Fredericksburg during a heavy rainstorm according to information received here. The trailer-truck which he was driving jumped a bridge and he was thrown from the truck. He was found a short time later by ja state highway department maintenance crew and was taken to a Fredericksburg hospital by ambulance. He waa pronounced dead upon arrival. Rushing is survived by his wife, the former Veda Griffith and seven children by a former marriage: Floyd Rushing, Mrs Sylvester McKay. Helen Joann, Leila, Pauline, Bobby, Carl, and Melba Joyce Rushing; a grandson: his parents Mr and Mrs Jim Rushing of Waco; a brother Richard Rushing of Waco; two sisters, Mrs Backie Wade and Mrs Dell Hilliard of Odessa. • Times Record News • Wichita Falls, Texas • 28 Jul 1950, Fri • Page 7
