Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, USA
Notes: Known as Evergreen Cemetery from June 12, 1868 until July 7, 1907 when the City of Savannah purchased and changed the name to Bonaventure Cemetery.
Located on a scenic bluff of the Wilmington River amid live oaks adorned with Spanish moss, Bonaventure Cemetery was established on land from the Bonaventure Plantation. Henry Urban was the architect. On the National Register of Historic Places, the cemetery is famous for its mention in John Muir's book "Thousand Mile Walk" and John Berendt's book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil", as well as the Clint Eastwood movie of the same name). It often makes lists of most beautiful cemeteries in the world and contains many examples of fine sculptures.
