Our Family's Journey Through Time
Samuel was a Revolutionary War Veteran who
served two tours during the war, including the battle of Brier Creek, GA, near Augusta, on March 3rd 1779. The Tories won that battle, and he and 8 other men barely escaped across the Savannah River. He was discharged in South Carolina.
Samuel was granted 1000 acres of Montgomery County, Tennessee for his service. The Samuel Smith Memorial Park is located on what is now Fort Campbell, Kentucky, under pine trees that grew from seedlings that he brought from North Carolina.

We make every effort to document our research. There is a lot of information that I do not have, and I know there are mistakes in this tree. My feelings will not be hurt if you give me corrections or additional information, especially if you can provide sources for the information.
